Many older Britons are still choosing Spain as their retirement destination despite Brexit and the country’s concerns over immigration levels. Spain is home to diverse cities and landscapes.
To determine which spot best suits retirees’ needs, relocation experts conducted a detailed analysis to crown Spain’s best cities and towns. Almuñécar, on the southwest coast, took the top spot after scoring highly with its low rent price index.
Almuñécar’s beaches, the charm of its Old Quarter streets, the Castle of San Miguel, vibrant nightlife in bars and pubs, summer concerts in Parque del Majuelo, and elegant marina collectively make it an ideal destination for a seaside vacation. It has 19 beaches and coves, some of which have crystal-clear waters ideal for diving and other water activities.
Alison Johnson, relocation expert and owner of Moving to Spain, offered the following advice to retirees moving abroad. “Over eight million foreign-born people live in Spain, with many relocating to the country to enjoy their retirement.
“Mainland Spain and its associated islands, such as the Balearics and Canaries, are home to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. They offer a relaxed way of life, outstanding healthcare, a low cost of living, and a warm climate.”
